Chartres Canvas Labyrinth

Some of our best work has come from requests for custom designs. People had asked for a Chartres labyrinth in rainbow colors before, but I never could figure out a good way to work in 7 colors for the Chartres pattern. The solution came from Holy Trinity Community Churchin Memphis, Tennessee: Use six colors. Exclude indigo, since there is already a blue. Six worked very well into the 12 circuits, showing how they repeat each other. Here are two photos of the rainbow Chartres labyrinth. Painting it was problematic becuase light colors don't cover up the pencil lines. Therefore, Judy Hopen, production manager at Labyrinth Enterprises, had to draw the pattern with no extraneous lines, and paint very precisely. On a normal day, Judy's work is wonderful. On this labyrinth, it is beyond adjectives. It is magnificent. Congratulations, Judy.
